Tequila Sunrise

Tequila Sunrise

A decent movie, a great song, and a delicious cocktail.  Thought to have been first created in the thirties, it gets it's name from the effect created when the denser Grenadine is poured in and settles at the bottom of the glass, creating graduations in color that mimic a sunrise.  Simple ingredients, easy to make, and certainly a worthy featured cocktail... Tequila Sunrise!

 2 oz. Gold Tequila
4 oz. Orange Juice
.75 oz. Grenadine
Cherry for garnish

Pour the Tequila into an ice filled Collins glass.  Add the Orange Juice, and then slowly pour the Grenadine down the inside of the glass.  As it settles at the bottom, it will slowly start to rise, creating the sunrise effect.  Garnish with a cherry, or any fruit, and enjoy your delicious Tequila Sunrise!
